I am an American citizen who spent a considerable amount of time in Europe over the past five or six years. I lived in France for two years while doing some undergraduate work and my masters degree. I have also done an internship and a high school exchange program in Spain. I am currently living in the Basque Country and studying in an intensive Basque language school with the hopes of passing the government Basque language exam, which is needed for most jobs here. I want to live and work in Europe, preferably in the Basque Country, but I am also open to other locations, especially in Spain, France, or Italy. What do I need to do to find a job overseas? What do I need to do to get a work permit here? When you are looking for a job, you need to have a work permit, but in order to the work permit, you need to have a job, so it's essentially a catch 22. Has anyone been in this situation? Advice? Ideas? Thanks.
