Michigan
Based on their only loss being a 3-point loss to #1 ranked Ohio State and USC's only loss being a 2-point loss to unranked Oregon State.
The fact that the question has to be asked proves there needs to a playoff system.

If Michigan would have had more games to play still then they could have earned the right for the #2 spot but their season was over 2 weeks before most other teams...why??? Just becasue their season was over it allowed USC to rack up the points in the BCS and with a win over ranked ND it gave them enough to actually confirm that they belong there.

so far rain dogs provided the best ANALYSIS.

i've been saying all along that rankings don't only take into consideration who a team lost to. the rankings are based on a lot of things.

okay, michigan lost to #1 ohio state and USC lost to an unranked oregon state. but what about the other games? you can't simply rank a team based on the outcome of one game can you? that's ridiculous? if that's true, why even bother to play the other games?

USC has been improving dramatically since that loss; and they look like they can give ohio state a really good game.

michigan is a great team, but so is USC.

Pretty simple math, really...
USC plays in the PAC-10 (eight bowl teams)
Michigan plays in the Big Ten (six bowl teams)
USC's non-conference schedule?
Arkansas (9), Notre Dame (10), and Nebraska (20)
Michigan's non-conference schedule?
Notre Dame (10), Ball State (198?), Vanderbilt (199?), and perennial power, the Central Michigan Chippewas (200?)

The team that got hosed and should be whining instead of Michigan is Wisconsin. They don't even get a BCS bowl.

Definately Michigan! I'm a fan, and I'm still rooting they get that spot in the Championship game, it's not over yet. Go - Fight - Win
