I just had my first miscarriage ever and am curious about what will happen to my cycle afterwards. I had a perfect cycle which was very regular etc. We are trying to conceive and now I will have to start charting again to see what is going to happen to my body. Should I wait awhile to try again? Could people share there experience with me I am a bit stressed about this.

Thanks

I would wait 2 cycles, that is what I was told after both of my miscarriages. I would also take prenatal vitamins during this time since they have more folic acid in them. Your body needs some time to for hormones and everything to return to normal. You also want to have 2 cycles so that your uterine lining sheds twice before you conceive as you want the most optimum setting for a healthy pregnancy. This will also give you time to mourn and grieve for the pregnancy you lost, it's very important to do so. Many times women rush into the next pregnancy thinking that will help. But giving your self time to grieve will also help you deal with your emotions and fears before you get pregnant again. I would also talk to your doctor about your miscarriage, perhaps they can ensure with tests that hormones weren't a factor or ensure that your cervix is competent. If it was very early in the pregnancy they may not be able to do this, but it's worth asking about anyway. Use this time to take care of yourself, eat right, take the prenatal vitamins, etc. because this is all part of a healthy pregnancy for you and baby. Depending on if you are rated as a 'high' risk pregnancy you may want to see a perinatologist instead of just a regular obstetrician. A perinatologist specializes in high risk pregnancies of all types and is often very proactive in assuring a healthy outcome for you and baby. Good luck!

There is no reason to wait if you don't want to. I have had two miscarriages. The first one I waited a month to try again because my doctor told me to. I got my period back after a month, started trying again, and it took us four cycles to conceive. I miscarried that baby, too. Then we started trying again right away. I got my period after 25 days, then again at 18 days (weird, I know) and then conceived the third cycle and gave birth to a healthy daughter.

As far as I know there's no reason to wait. Somebody once decided "hey, that makes some sense" but they've never studied it. I've even seen some evidence that you are more fertile the cycle after a miscarriage.

I would wait and talk to my doctor before trying again. Let your body recover from this. I had a miscarriage and about a month later my cycle went back to normal. After my miscarriage I didnt try to have anymore kids. Then surprise along came my youngest. So dont be stressed out just let your body heal before going forward.

If I remember correctly, I got back to normal within a month with my cycles.

Sorry for your loss. I may be different than most, but I was able to get over mine easily. I am sure you have heard this before, but miscarriage doesn't mean you will never be able to carry a baby. Keep your chin up, and don't stress too much.
