These are all great answers! It's not that I'm totally lame, it's just that he is the one to shower us with goodies and he never wants anything. But, please keep answering because I feel like were almost there with the ideas. There is just something I am forgetting. Please keep ans. and I know it will come to me. Such awesome ideas. Oh, and he is a preacher, so he really does need ties. But....what do I know about ties?

if all else fails, a gift card to his favorite restruant or to his hobby supply store (is golf is hobby, gift card to a golf store). i love gift cards, it lets them pick their gift or take money off something they cant quite afford.

What are his interests?
Does he have a computer? Maybe get him a game. Or does he like films? Get him a DVD boxset or something.
Cologne and ties are nice, but a bit boring. I try and get people presents that they can use right away, rather than put back in the box for a special occasion or something.

Most guys aren't wild about cologne, and they have a million ties. Get him something cute, like a coffee mug or t-shirt that says something funny or sweet. Dads love that.

if its for your dad, then anything but cologne or a tie, cuz that is the stereotypical dad gift, and Im sure you dont think of your father as the stereotypical dad. There must be something personal you know he'd like (think sports, cars etc...whatever he likes)
