I agree 100%. Abstinence is the best way. After that would be protection, condoms. Also, to be careful with who you choose to bed with. Being extra careful could also be a way of prevention.

Abstinence will obviously help but it's not foolproof, there are otherways to get it than having sex.
Also, trying to convince everyone to abstain from sex is never going to work. Teenagers have so many hormones running through their bodies that it's extremely unlikely that you'll be able to convince them to not have sex.
I think the best plan is to give them as much informaiton as possible so that they can make informed decisions. Trying to force abstinance down people's throats is only going to make them rebel. Give them the information and let them make up their own mind, and they are likely to be far more mature about it.
To answer the question though, I think the best way to prevent yourself from getting HIV while still having sexual relationships is to use condoms. They are EXTREMELY effective in stopping HIV from being passed from partner to partner. Many partners where one is HIV+ and the other is HIV- still have fulfilling sex lives with each other by using condoms and getting regularly tested. If caught early, the treatments available for it now reduce the risk of it developing into AIDS a huge amount.

The best way is first to have you and your special friend if any checked accross the board for all std's,including aids, then do a double blind check, then make sure you stay far away from drugs, and any intimate activity is strickly between you two.
The next best way is 100% abstinence,it will drive you insane perhaps even postal but its a way.
With regards to teens with bubbling hormones or really for anyone with bubbling hormones there is little we can do to stop their natural fundamental reactions to these hormones.
We could send them through the aids hospitals to view those on their last days,it wouldnt change what they would eventually do.
There is only one way the first I gave.

Using condoms is the best way. Abstinence won't work for someone who doesn't want to wind up as a 90 year old virgin.

if you think abstinence is the best way , that is fine , of course will you always resist ?
condoms highly recommended if engaging in sexual acts ...
HIV can be spread trough other methods .......even tough it is now safer for blood transfusions ? it can still happen .mistakes do happen ........drugs uses are also dangerous with the share of needles .........
