Our body is autonomous and auto-controlled. It gives us indications of hunger, thirst, sleep, sex, indigestion, not feeling well and so on.
When you work hard and your stamina is exhausted you feel nothing to do sensation.
When you eat your eyes close automatically and you are asleep. So many times you are too tired to eat and get slept without eating. This is natural.
Nowadays there are various facilities due to which hard work is not necessary. People live a luxerious life. There is no need of hard work, therefore natural sleep is also disturbed.

You should go to bed at least once in a 24 hour period even if you dont feel the symptoms of being tired. Not sleeping is hard on your body, even if you dont feel tired, your body is tired. If you are not able to tell when you need to sleep perhaps you should consider a doctor's visit.
