IF- the big bang was a reality.
WHAT- would have existed would have been the universe and all the matter and energy in it. In some form of super black hole type of singularity, or just a void and the appearance of God.
Did God pre exist?
Bible Begins: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Was the beginning before the big bang? It must have been it was the beginning and the singularity or void already existed so the beginning is before that.
Linear timelines as man understands them are useless. An all powerful god would be able to be born at the end of time and go to the beginning and make the universe. God lives outside the box.

Time, by theory, began at the exact moment of the big bang. If this question is to be "graded" for accuracy and historical context(sic), why is the question loaded with a theological overtone? An intelligent answer should not be influenced by having God as a part of the question.

I agree with the fecund universe theory. This theory states that in a black hole in one universe is formed and begins sucking in energy and matter it creates a new universe with slightly differrent laws of physics by initiating a big bang on the other side and creating a baby universe. This means that due to the anthropic principle, our universe would be typical, because our universe creates more black holes and is a universe capable of supporting life. Theirfore universes where life is capable of forming are typical. Do I believe in God? No. About 10 thousand years ago (or earlier) people were just forming into communities and things were created like gods and dieties to help familiarize themselfs to what they could not understand and control. Like a god of creation, a god of death, a goddess of love. Eventualy over time the idea of Gods became the idea of God. Could their be a creator of the universe? Perhaps we could be apart of some higher beings experiment to create a black hole and watch what happens, but I doubt it. That is highly improbable.

one of the most fascinating and (astonishing) followed trends in science is that the empty vacuum behaves diffrrent that what we though.
also, thah the aristotelical conclusion "ex nihilo nihil fit" (from the nothing, nothing comes) is far too old and inaccurate.
you see, in the empty vacuum, forces like virtual particles and photons, thus anty photons and anti particles are created, eventualy, and also they eliminated themselves, leaving the closed enviroment with a zero energy summatory at all the time
the words vacuum pre big bang will lead you to some links where you can start seeking for your self the vast knloledge about self creation of matter in the empty vacuum.
laplace, einstein and others have studied that and eve theres a unit called *L in the order of 1 cm ^10-33
in such vecinitu the vacuum is granulated, ad the unit measures the granules

At the time of the big bang, the universe was in a state of almost infinite density and almost zero mass. In this state, all laws of physics fail, including the concept of time, since time is also a physical entity. In short, time itself came into existence when the universe was created, and hence, what was 'before' the universe doesn't matter not has any consequences.

We may never know, since we don't have any way of observing something outside our own universe. No need for god though, we'll find a natural way for the universe to form the way it did - we're well on the way already.
Accuracy and historical context? Are we doing your homework for you?

In all of creation you have to move something to create something. ( Gods physical law of Energy ) In that first creating a vast space or Universe is created in a expansion of vacuum at a single point.( The Universe was at a greater vacuum coming to rest at Zero inches of vacuum ) This transformation makes for a perfect working Universe Where particles can be charged and un-charged...The Inner created genetic structure of a planet decides if it has a upper atmosphere.( If I create something where there was once was Air or vacuum, Then the Energy of particles has moved it's space and time. )

Its not possible to know, because the laws of physics cannot be traced through a singularity and the big bang was a singularity. Imaginary time may give a solution to this. But maybe nothis at all.
It doesn't seem at all plausible that any form of god was involved (and anyway which of the thousands we have created would you pick).
