Some plastics are soft and flexible when warm, but hard and brittle when cold. Pipes can freeze causing them to split open. Not sure how porcelain could be affected by temperature...

I would say something that was able to absorb moisture, say, a non-ceramic vase, or fired vase, IE:clay something of this order that would absorb the moisture and freeze, expanding and, therefore, breaking.

And they also break easily in Summer.

molecules contract when cold and thus tend to be more brittle..at least for some items

that depends on the item. but obvilosly metal is still the same.
