Well if you're going to ask again I might as well give you the same answer ;)
I think that's definitely true of Drogba - the competition coupled with the carrot of a new contract. Also when Sheva has been playing Drog's had someone to play off and although Shev's not been scoring his all-round game is pretty good. I think last year Drogba suffered from playing on his own up front - I mean granted it was supposed to be 4-3-3 but he ended up being a target man in a 4-5-1 a lot of the time. Most strikers like to have someone to play off - look at Van Nistelrooy when United started playing 4-5-1 a few seasons back. He still knocked the odd goal in but he was half the player.
Dunno about Essien - thought he was pretty good last season. Think it takes some players time to settle so it might just be that he's a bit more at home. I take the point though - Essien must have thought Ballack would have his place in the side. Of course it hasn't really worked out like that what with Chelsea playing four central midfielders at the moment.
I think they're both great players. Mourinho has definitely got a good eye. You can't help feeling, given the players he seems to go for, that Sheva and Ballack were more Mr Abramovich's picks than Jose's.

I would say definitely, not only this but Drogba works extremely well with Sheva as does essien with Ballack, but i disagree with everybody criticising Sheva because it takes a while to adapt to the english style of play and i think he has done very well....if you take into consideration the amount of times he has set drogba up instead of shooting as he could do many times this season....

yep for me its true
sheva has taken great pressure off drogba
essien can work more on his defensive game while ballack helps the attacking front
chelsea's doing great and i wonder why people judge sheva a poor investment when in fact he's helping the team a lot
it's true he's not scoring goals but football isn't just all about putting the ball at the back of the net
im a juve fan

Maybe. both want regular 1st team footie. Jose can't guarantee that. So they all have to play a blinder to catch his eye. Robben's on form - but can't get a starting spot. As for SWP.
