I think Afghan is trying harder as people to make their goverment work. Unlike Iraq which is letting us the allies do all the work. Basicly milking us and using alot of our money. Atleast they get along better in Afghan. I don't think anyone in America goverment offical would care about the deal as long as it brings peace and can't backfire(like turn back the way it was).

I don't think those tribal elders pose any threat to the national security of Afganistan. Regardless of the battles fought before, whats important is peace. I think that it was the right step. Don't know how Bush/Blair regimes would percieve that.
