One of my friends is Iranian, and when I first met him I thought he was hispanic. I really didn't find out he was Iranian until several months later. He doesn't look as 'arab' as some middle easterners.

I lived in Iran for one year.... the people are gentle, peace loving and have a great culture, both personal and historical. They look European, do not want to be called "arabs" and dream of a different world.... but NOT a western-like world, because many things proposed to them by our western culture seem wrong... can you blame them?
P.S. - Iranian women do not wear black burqas, they have just to cover their hair...

Some of my best friends are Persians, and they are sweet, kind considerate and cultured people. They are Ba'hai's though and decided to leave their homeland after the revolution rather than be forced to resign their jobs, stay at home and wear black burkas.
