Candidates are so prepackaged now that it's difficult to distinguish good from bad. After being focus grouped to death and constantly being told what to say, how to say it and what color tie to wear, most candidates are confused when giving an impromptu answer. Just look at our current prez and his "deer in headlights" look when a reporter asks him a question he wasn't drilled about beforehand.
I actually like Giuliani's style, I just hope the handlers don't have their way with him before he starts truly campaigning.

That person must have ideas that were not passed down from the old guard. Independence of thoughts is almost impossible for someone seeking that office. Look what happened to Kennedy when the old guard could not make him obey. Obama has become a bright star which could change American politics. Instead of the black/white-liberal/conservative battle which we have grown used to the future could hold promise of a union of forces for the good of the public. Innocence may make Obama an easy mark for the old sharks eying the next election but at least His being around gives some positive feelings to it all. Forget the party stuff and vote the person. A president can tell the party to get lost once the election is over. That is what Kennedy did.

Candidate must be intelligent, educated, diplomatic, multi-lingual, compassionate, honest, peace loving, and available to the common people. I don't know anyone in US government who fits this criteria.

ElOsoBravo beat me to my answer. I have to agree. After seeing Obama on Jay Leno, he's DEFINITELY Presidential material.
