That depends on where in the world you are and what your capacity is to go it alone. Give more details.

Hans Laxman I think you are an @rsehole for suggesting that the girl kill herself.

Different cultures will give you different responses. Being an Amer. I would say to run like mad. However, you must understand the culture. Arranged marriages are very real and aren't taken lightly. I would say to get her eyes off the Western world and stick with her culture. If her mind has seen our way of living where women are equal (well almost, but we're getting there) and she can't accept nothing less then she is in for a brutal and maybe even deadly siege. If you are sweet on the girl, You will have to do some major planning to get her out. Just be aware that this isn't the only culture shock your going to run into. It gets worst!

I agree with what Heera has said. Islam doesnt force a person into marriage with a person he/she dislikes. Thats the reason why its compulsory for the Qazi to ask both the bride and the groom if they agree for the marriage and when you say that the girl's family forced her into marriage....she herself has accepted the marriage contract and the only way she can move out of this relationship is by getting a divorce in a legal and proper way.

I'm pretty sure it is the exact opposite. I don't know anyone that wants to picture 2 dudes sticking it in each others butt's. That's just gross. If some one was obsessed with what goes on in a gay guys bedroom than chances are that person is also gay. You asked this question as if you are a mind reader, and you know what everyone is thinking. That is your problem, stop generalizing everything.

be very careful i don't know your family but i was married to a lebanese muslim and his friend was here on a visa for school and brought his sister over for a education but she fell in love with someone other than who she was to marry back home as they already promised her to someone else. but she didnt' want that and she found her own man. her brother told his father. and the father told her to come home they were having the older sister get married and she needed to be in the wedding. and when she got home they took her out to the dessert and beheaded her as this was shameful onto the family for her picking someone else other than what her father chose for her. so i hoipe your parents aren't that extreme. but if you dont' know how they will react you may want to check that out first.

It is very difficult to answer this question since we don't know if she is overseas or in the USA. If she is here in the US there are alot of options for her. If she is overseas maybe she can get a lawyer to mediate on her behalf.

depends on where she is? where ever she is she must 1st take care of her certificates. next findout a police station nearby and lodge complaint. Seek women protection societies. or social service org. she must take friend's help. if she is in love with some one, then she must be careful with evidence. should be confident. because, if someone comes to her riscue, and her parents talk to her emotionally....it may be danger to the person who is willing to help her. anyway she should be willing to stand by on her own.

She could report the abuse to the police, file charges, get a restraining order.
This is America if she really doesn't want to get married she doesn't have to.
