ok, my friend has a honda cbr 600 rr its a 2003. it only has like 4-5 thousand miles on it. a friend of his was riding it one day and pulle a wheely back too far and the bike fliped over.. it messed the fairings and a few other things.. the fram was not bent and no damage was done to the motor.. since then he has had the bike fixed completely, with new parts and repainted. being a friend of mine he will sell it to me for 3000. is this a good price? considering it has been crashed.. i want to feel like im gettin a great deal yano.. ive priced them on ebay, and seems lower than others.. but u never can tell if someone laid it down and repaired it after. any comments or advice would be appreciated. thanx

I would recommend asking your friend for the repair bill from the shop where the bike was fixed. Contact them about anything strange on the bill. Be sure you check with the DMV to make sure the title is clear (i.e. it's not listed as a "salvage") If it is, you won't be able to register it normally. If the registration is okay, the repair bill and shop seem straight forward (and you trust your friend), I'd buy it. Especially since you've priced other similar(?) bikes. Check Craig's List and a few of the cycle trading sites for more comparisons. There's no rush to buy it, so don't hurry the deal before you know more.

It depends on whether you have much experience riding a motorcycle. If you've been riding a year or so, that may not be such a bad deal. If you've only ridden a couple times and are looking to get a first bike, I'd have to say no - it's way too easy for a beginning rider to pull things like that out of control wheelie on a bike like that. You'll have an easier time learning to ride on a 500 cc bike or smaller - and you can get a brand new Ninja 250 that has never been dropped for what he's asking for the CBR.

You know it was laid down, was the shop that fixed it qualified?
He knows you know, 3000 is a bit high in my opinion, Look around,, have the frame checked by a bodyshop and make your own mind up 3000 is way too much to let someone online make the decision for you.

there's no rush in buying superbike......
if u really interested on the superbike.....
why not you ask your friend 4 a test ride.....maybe you can borrow the bike for 2 or 3 days or more then do a fully test on it and see how well the condition of the bike......don't forget to test for its performance too.....if u really like the bike then why not u grab the bike if u think it was the lowest price on the market...

If he's a good, trustworthy friend i would buy it off him. At least you know the history of the bike.
