You know people think young people of today have it difficult but you should realize young people of every generation felt the same way. My parents always talked about how hard their life was and when I was a kid and they were telling me, I thought, that's hard? They had the same teen troubles these kids have today, except they dealt with it better. The society then was not as permissive as it is today. They were told that their place in life was to be "seen, not heard." Today, we encourage our children to speak out, to not hold it in and that's exactly what they do. The thing is, they whine about it and cry and expect someone to rescue them. How many teens were depressed 20 years ago compared to the depression cycle of today's youth?
Years ago, it was a privilege to get a job at 16, earn some money and pave our way through life. We just needed help with college funding. These kids today don't even want to finish high school because they think so much about getting high (not all kids). The peer pressure is more because of our permissiveness to want to hear them now and they don't know how to communicate.
We've taught them to share their pain and to have the freedom to do whatever the heck they want to do. They do it.
I'm not sure it is all society or parental non-influence.

Your right, life is great but there will always be reasons why people feel lonely or get depressed. I find it hard in my adult life sometimes to not feel that way, like I did when I was a teen! Sometimes life throws you a curve ball (or 5), and when you are a teen it is harder to deal with things because you haven't lived life enough yet to experience everything, therefore making it hard to deal with even small everyday problems. The lack of life experience is the reason, because they haven't seen enough of the world to know that there are much worse things in life that could happen to you or someone that you love.

Youg people nowadays are not looking to please but to enjoy, a guy would just want to f**k as much girls as possible, it made him feel like a giant and get respect from pals. Girls it's a matter of Bling Bling, who take them out and spend most on them, the D**k also is a must for them. In this king of live it's very very hard to find a downhearthed and EDUCATED person as we don not anymore know what Ethic means... When you are looking for love you have 99% changes of falling on a player and that causes as you title it young people syndrone. Also note that even older person faces it... it's just the world that's going BAD and MAD towards the ...

some kids are in the "emo" trend [emo stands for EMOtional]....where they think being "dark" is cool. not really goth...more like....whiny punks. also, some people believe that since in todays society kids are surrounded by video games, TV, and internet they dont socialize as much as our parents did. back then our parents actually PLAYED. its also probably because in todays society kids and parents seem to be interested in TOTALLY differnt things. not all dads enjoy video games...and not all moms see the point in talking on AIM all the time when we have the phone now. now must kids and thier parents cant listin to the same music since all the music now is about how many b**ches he did and how bling his car is...or the songs about "i just want to be perrrrfect" *cuts wrist.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it is strange, all these young people wanting to kill themselves, and being so bored and lonely. I just couldn't have enough fun when I was young. I was too busy to be bored. I worked, made money, and enjoyed life. So, what is going on?
