I took a short cut across a frozen lake one night when coming home late, when I got to the middle, the ice broke from under me, I fell in holding on to the ice screaming for help, nobody was around, I remembered seeing a show on what to do if you fall into a frozen lake, luckily I remembered that you "ROLL OUT" while kicking your feet as hard as you can, never stop kicking your feet, even if you have skates on, IT worked, then the ice broke out from under me again, I tried again, this time it worked, a kid saw me and gave me his bicycle, i rode home as fast as I could soaking wet, in 15*F weather, I burst into the back door covered in ice, my father looked at me and knew what happened, he threw me in the shower, clothes and all, it took hours to warm up, VERY SCARY !

I was a bit of a hippy those years back.
So, travelling was part of the game or the picture.
Hitch-hacking too.
From my country to Greece, for example.
Or in Israel, from Tel Aviv to Eilat. Through the desert.
That day, we were three friends, two girls and a boy.
The other girl was very small so when two truck drivers stopped we decided she would go with the boy and I would stay on my one.
By some chance, the two trucks were connected by talkie walkie, and my friends and I were able to communicate.
When suddenly, would my driver not take one of those long curved knife?
I never knew what he was going to do, but he did not look so amiable all at once.
So, I told my friends what was going on and told then I would do as I jump off the truck.
So I did.
And he withdrew is knife.
And the travel resumed, when we met later my friend were livid...
I only truly get scared later as during the action I was really concentrated and try to feel the mood.
End of the story.

my best friends lost her 3 month old to SIDS. At the funeral it was a wake, open casket. It took me 2 hours to walk in the same room, finally the father and his grandma walked up there with me...it was the worst feeling ever. I can't even imagine how my best friends were feeling. that moment is stuck with me forever, seeing him with his lil baseball cap...

I had a kidney stone once. The pain was unbearable - I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I knew something was terribly wrong because I was vomiting and I had never vomited in my adult life.

Being burned with a cigarette. Being choked until I lost consciousness.
Being (almost) convinced that I was a "stupid, worthless piece of sh!t."
Other things, but we won't go there...
Life is good, now :-))
