I am married to an Indian man...I am thinking about moving to India...What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of moving to a foreign land?....One of my friends told me to watch the movie " Not Without My Daughter "...Can anyone tell me where I can purchase this movie?...really curious now!

the movie was about iran, but it is a totally different situation with you. We're talking about India, which is a democracy and has a fair amount of rights for women. I dont think the movie should have any bearing on your decision. However, the benefits of moving to a place like india would be how much cheaper it is to live there, the contacts you will make which could land you a decent job, and the cultural exchange. being an american in india can be great because so many american companies are there. you could be very valuable to them as a recruiter of top indian talent. personally, i wouldn't go. i think the negatives are too high. there are much better economic opportunities here in the US and this is where your friends/family are i'm assuming. unless you are really willing to give up everything and start a new life i would not do it. it's a very different culture, especially for women. its not even close to iran, but certainly a more male-dominated society than the US.

Yes you should watch it even though that movie is about Iraq I think or Iran not sure wich of the 2 but you probably could get it at Target.

hm im not sure you'd enjoy it. for all the progress india has made it's still not the same as the USA and you would find it quite a culture shock. i suggest visiting there first for a few weeks, to get a feel for it, then make your decision.
