a positive test isn't usually wrong because it detects the hormone that is present in pregnancy so if you've had a positive result then chances are you are pregnant repeat the test in a couple of weeks for your own peace of mind

To be sure of an accurate result you need to wait until your period is due. If you have a longer cycle it means that you ovulate later, so you are no 'more pregnant' by day 24 than anyone else. If you do want to take the test early you should do it first thing in the morning. Also don't drink any extra to make you pee as this can effect the result.

I think looking at all the above answers combined gives you the main answer... Everyone is different.. Pregnancy can be detected in some people this early on but is not detected in others. I'm afraid I am not sure of the percentages so can't tell you how likely it is that you specifically will be able to test reliably for pregnancy. I guess it all depends on the amount of pregnancy hormone in your urine at the time.. It will vary between individuals.
I hope everything works out well for you :)

It should IF you got enough human chorionic gonadotropin (hCg) in your urine to be detected by the home pregnancy test. Every pregnancy is different, and some women have to buy tests that are more sensitive or do a re-test a week after missing out their periods.

It shoudl do. Most tests should show up 10 days after conception but they aren't always accurate. It'd probably be best to wait until you missed your period or was due before you took the test.

I would say, it should do. I am currently 27 weeks pregnant and I did my hpt the day before I was due to start my period and the line was very dark and a definite positive.
Good luck xx

Firstly it would depend on the accuracy of the test you take. If you got one that detects 10 of hcg it may very well pick up the hormone with first morning urine. I would`nt be too confident of it picking it up that early though with any test.

Nope. Pregnancy hormones appears after like 2-3 weeks after your expected period date.
