Really... if I say that on national tv how long would it be till Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson and all the crybabies were on my doorstep saying I'm a racist? All these comedians using the n word, Dave Chappel is the worst and people I know who are not black get off on hearing that crap and ultimatley perpetuate it.

Anthony, if people other than blacks went around saying, "what's up my massah (not masser)," it would certainly have no effect, now would it? If blacks said it, it would. Why is that? Because it was used for power back in those times. Just as the "n" word was labeled to those same slaves who had to address the slave owners. The unfortunate thing is some of the ignorant slave owners could not pronounce "Master" properly and it became "massah" to the slaves. The same happened when identifying a black person that was brought over from Africa - ***** became derogatory in the form of the "n" word.

Rappers and comedians alike are, as you said, the worst by constantly reverting back to that formality of the word that so many civil rights leaders worked so hard to delete from the common vocabulary of Americans. Yet, it is not part of an everyday slang and people want to get offended when they hear it.

If you dislike the use of the word, stop using it. You notice how little "cracker" is used? Because people stopped using it!

I asked a similar question and many responses I got either promoted violence like ,go call a black person that and see what happens or more amazingly, blacks telling me its ok for blacks to call each other the N word cause its like a brotherhood thing but whites cant cause its a slavery thing. This was the gist of most answers. What a bunch of jerry springer BS crap. WHo freakin cares!

I really have nothing better to do than respond to your most stupid question.
Had slavery not existed, had the era after slavery not existed where Black were still treated terribly by whites, then maybe just maybe and I say thins hnaging on a thread of string...then maybe.. whites could say what up ni**ga in a cheerful gesture. But that not being the case slavery having occurred and all For a white person to have the audacity to use the word that meant something hateful and lewd back then is still considered wrong.
For people like Dave Chapelle to say it is even discouraged but he's speaking to his own people so thats why it's less frowned upon than a white person using it I assume.

"Massa" isn't an offensive or derogitory way to labeling white people. Cracka, is meant to be derogitory. If whites went around calling each other cracka, only white people would care. The rest of the world would laugh.
