No. Divya means the "heroine of the divine light of the sun." Absolutely nothing to do with Divali! Don't confuse with Diya(meaning lamp), which is also a Hindu name...

Well definitely it has nothing to do with diwali. I don't really know the meaning but when i searched thru the net, found that divya meant heavenly, brilliant and extraordinary.... hmmm...

Diwali is festival of lights...and divya means unique, extraordinary... therefore no connection :)

No Divya name has nothing to do with Diwali.... Divya means "BRIGHT" ...

diwali is festival of lights - its origin is "deepawali" meaning " a row of lights (lamps)"...
