The largest planet in the universe is....hmmm...WE DON'T KNOW...If it was the largest planet in the solar system it would be Jupiter, made of gas, the fifth planet from the sun. It is right after the asteroid belt. It also has a red spot, which is a giant storm...

First off, the sun is a celestial body called a star, so it is not a planet. Secondly, Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, not the universe.

Alot of people say it is Jupiter. However in the early 90`s a super hot gas giant was discovered orbiting around the star Pegasus by detecting gravitational anomalies. The gravitational anomalies can mathematicaly predict a planet rotating around a star. This hot jupiter was argued to be a "second sun" however later observations concluded it to be a gas giant. This planet is bigger than jupiter. Their are other planets circling around stars through many galaxies, no one knows what planet is the biggest in the whole universe yet. Their could theoreticaly be planets out their alot bigger than Jupiter.

I just had to respond to this. Of course we all know that Jupiter is the largest planet and most of us (Javan excluded) know that the Sun is a star and sirius isn't the brightest one. but I reiterate that we have discovered several exoplanets in other areas of the universe and there sizes are merely estimates because of there distance from us and our limited technology so there is no deffinite answer to this question yet. Most astronomers, like myself, would never dare claim that we know the largest until all of the universe is mapped out and unfortunately we all won't be around to see that...maybe of great great great grandchildren will.

that questions awnser is unknown because our solar system is not the only place in this universe with planets. Other solar systems have been discovered. In this solar system it is Jupiter but scientists have not yet found every corner of the universes and there fore can not say.

Jupiter, fifth planet from the Sun and the largest planet in Earth’s solar system. With the exception of the Sun, the Moon, and Venus, Jupiter is the brightest object in Earth’s sky—more than three times brighter than Sirius, the brightest star. Due to its prominence in the sky, the ancient Romans named Jupiter for Jove, the chief god of Roman mythology .
