Apparently the geographic center of the US mainland is marked by a small monument in Lebanon, Kansas.

The geographical center of the U.S.A. is about 18 miles north of Belle Fourche, South Dakota on old Route 85 (I think it's 85). I had a tire changed in Belle Fourche, South Dakota and they're pretty proud of the fact that it's there. There's a Geodesic Survey marker about 15 feet to the east of the road (it's off an old gravel road) with a metal sign post above it, and if you don't know what to look for, you'll drive right past it. Don't take my word for it, ask someone from Belle Fourche.
The Geographical Center of North America is on U.S. Route 2 in Rugby, North Dakota.
