I've had occasion where a separated man has asked to date me. I decline for the reason that he is still technically married. A separated man is still married, simply moving away from a state of marriage. A man who is engaged is simply moving towards the state of marriage. Either way, they are not 'clear' to date. 'What is your thought ?

Good for you - you are right.
He IS still married and a little creepy... even some divorced situations may not be desirable but he needs to fix his marriage first.

Separated if legally, is clear to date, but i don't date them either, since I find they tend to compare me to their exwives. But engaged man who date should be told on. If he can't stay aithful during an engagement, it doesn't bode well for the marriage either.

He's separated. He's trying to find out where he wants to be. If you like him, show him better. You're obviously better, or he'd be home. (if she let him). Follow your gut. How do you feel?
