Understand the concept, "Who is God" and it would become simpler to understand God Almighty in its entirety.

God Almighty... a cluster of pure energy is but the sum total of all souls (atmans) in the cosmos at a given point of time. The essence of every soul (atman) being the same as God Almighty... every soul is but a minuscule God in its entity.

The moment the big bang occurs... all souls (atmans) existing in the Cosmos spread all over the cosmos with unimaginable speeds. The magnitude and the scale of the big bang are beyond the comprehension of the human beings to visualize. Nothing that exists in the cosmos in energy form can be visualized by the help of the senses and the mind.

This explosion of the big bang results in creation of a new cosmos... a new beginning! After billions of years when some planets become suitable for giving birth to life... the souls start manifesting body after another. And a planet like Mother Earth is born.

Now... what is this big bang theory! The big bang occurs in what! As has been defined above... the definition of God is, "the sum total of all purified souls atmans in the cosmos at a given point of time is what we know as God Almighty".

This cluster of pure energy we know as God accumulates in its absolute pure state only when the dissolution of the Cosmos occurs in its entirety. It is as if a huge cauldron of fire... a massive black hole has reduced the whole of the Cosmos to the size of half a thumb. It is this stage when every single soul atman in the Cosmos in whatever stage of life it may be liberates after gaining enlightenment and salvation. There is just no escape for the collapse of the whole of Cosmos has occurred.

As has been expressed by Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism that souls atmans in whatever stage of life they may be... continue their journey into the next Cosmos exactly from the point where they stood in the earlier manifestation is totally wrong. This is where the teachings of Jainism are flawed.

Bhagavad Gita... the sacred doctrine of Lord Krishna distinctly clarifies this point. And it is logical that when the collapse of the entire cosmos occurs... the question of souls remaining in their position as such and transitioning into the next Cosmos after the big bang occurs is but a flawed parable that defies all reasoning and logic.

The point of difference where Mahavira went wrong in understanding the teachings of Bhagavad Gita! The reason why Jainism branched into a new thinking pattern as advocated and doctored by Bhagwan Mahavira (the 24th and last Tirthankara of Jainism) is evidenced here. Humans, in their early form, did not understand many of the phenomenon that were happening around him. There were beautiful ones like a starry night or a waterfall, or a scenic sunrise/sunset, and then there were the horrible ones like floods and fires. It was but natural that we would have attributed all this to a higher being since there was no way we would have known how to do these things. God was the easiest explanation. But then again, there are still phenomenon that exists, which can only be called miracles, like there is no way you could have missed a flight, but you did and then you read on the news about the tragedy that you have been a part of has you been on that flight.

So to answer your question, to each his own!!

God created Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve are the ancestors of the rest of us. That would lead me to believe that God created People.
It is really a question of faith, Do you believe in God or People.
Is God Perfect? Maybe.
Are people perfect? No, Not anyone I've ever met.
If people were so powerful could we create the entire universe out of nothing? No, but if you believe the Bible God can and did.
I'm still pretty sure God is the Creator.

If there is only one God then why are there so many religions? Why do people within these religions create there own religion? Some of these zealots are Gods. You can ask them and they will tell you they are. The branch divedons is one example. Your question will yield many different answers as "people" is not specific enough. You people out there may not share my faith, my religion, my God. But, there is only one God. So, why did God create so much confusion by creating so many religions, branches, and cults? Lincoln's idea on religion: "When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad... and that's my religion". And Jesus Christ said: "The kingdom of God lies within".

My personal belief is that people created the idea of God to try and explain the world around them. If some catastrophe occurred then it was the will of god rather than something that has just happened. Religion, and the idea of god has also been used through the centuries by rulers to keep the general populace in order.

Man created god to justify his idea of a afterlife, and further created god's words to enforce community behavior. Most religions are based on non-sustainable facts. If you examine the world's religions, you will find stories that are beyond belief but are accepted as truth, for example Shiva of the Hindu faith, or Kwan Yin in the Buddhist faith...they are accepted as a belief or a faith. In the Orient we accept many such stories as part of the culture but the inner-self denies the authenticity.

God did not create people...it happened in a science way. But people did think that god created them, so they started to think that god existed..

I read this book and it said "Religion answers 'why' and science answers 'what'"

The first sign a species is becoming sentient is when they have evolved to the point where they can abstract enough to invent a god. The first time a species achieves sentient maturity is when they get rid of their gods.

As we have no explanation about the universe, men invented god since it seems the only explanation possible. But we must admit that there are questions we can not answer. I am sure that each priest of any religion at doubts about this. So, you choose
