And if the fawn is still breastfeeding, will a lactating doe let it feed even though it is anothers. Some animals will do this, deer are an anomaly to me in this factor!

I think they may be one of those species that in order for the mother to imprint they need to clean the baby/eat the placenta or somesuch to memorize it's scent and to recognize it as it's offspring. If that's the case then no, that would be very hard to pull off.

Usually they won't, I'm sure there have been rare case where a doe will adopt, but it is very rare.
