which is better PSP or DS?

Why may you ask? Because WOW the PSP can go on the internet, play movies, music, and games, but It cant do all of those things well.
Also the movies for the PSP didnt do too well so now not many stores sell them. Also there arent as many good games for the PSP as there is for the DS.

In Opera's agreement with Nintendo, Nintendo DS users will now be able to surf the full Internet from their systems using the Opera browser. The Opera browser for Nintendo DS will be sold as a DS card. Users simply insert the card into the Wi- Fi enabled Nintendo DS, connect to a network, and begin browsing on two screens.

Earlier this year, Nintendo reported that 13 million Nintendo DS systems were sold to consumers around the world within just 13 months of its debut in November 2004. Nintendo DS combines unique dual screens, touch screen, voice recognition and wireless and Wi-Fi communications capabilities. According to an independent market research company in Japan, Nintendo DS has become the fastest selling video games machine to top the six million sales mark in Japan in just over 14 months since its Japanese debut, breaking the old record held by Nintendo's Game Boy Advance.

"The incredibly popular Nintendo DS is already Wi-Fi enabled to support real time gaming, so adding Web browsing capabilities was a natural evolution for this device," says Scott Hedrick, Executive Vice President, Opera Software. "Gaming devices are growing more advanced and a great Web experience is becoming a product differentiator for gaming manufacturers. Opera is excited to work with Nintendo to deliver a unique dual screen, full Internet experience on Nintendo DS."

With an on-screen keypad and stylus, users can easily navigate the Web from their Nintendo DS with PDA-like functionality. Based on the same core as the Opera desktop browser, Opera delivers superior speed and rendering of Web pages on the Nintendo DS.

"Within just five seconds of turning on the system, the Nintendo DS is already fully operational. This makes it the ideal device to enable people to swiftly obtain the latest information from the internet, wherever they are," says Masaru Shimomura, Deputy General Manager of Nintendo's R & D Department. "Opera exceeded our expectations with its user friendly interface, quick access to all your favorite sites, ease of use and, most importantly, in making the best use of the Nintendo DS system's unique double screens and touch screen features. Opera is an important partner for Nintendo in our efforts to further expand the users of the Nintendo DS."

Perhaps even more exciting is an accessory that converts the DS into a television. Starting in April, a service called 1seg (pronounced One Seg) will begin airing digital broadcasts for mobile devices throughout Japan. A number of cell phones capable of receiving the broadcasts have been announced, and now Nintendo is getting in on the action with the tentatively named DS Terrestrial Digital Broadcast Receiver Card.

This card turns your DS into a television capable of receiving 1seg broadcasts. Channels are switched using the touch pen, with the broadcast viewed on the top screen. The prototypes Nintendo had at the press conference were running via the Game Boy Advance cartridge slot, but the final version of the card will plug into the DS card slot.

I heard they will be released in the U.S. a little bit later.

So as you can tell the DS is coming out with many new add-ons so my guess is eventually they will have movies for the DS and be able to play music like the PSP.

As far as capabilities and quality, the PSP wins hands down. The DS's saving quality is the price of the system and the games. New games for the DS average at around $30-$40, while you won't be able to find any new PSP games for under $50. If money is not an issue, go with the PSP.

The PSP is the better system. It gives you media in your pocket. The PSP goes beyond a gaming experience, it allows you listen to you favorite music and watch your favorite TV Show Episodes and Music Videos. You also can view and take pictures on the PSP. The Newly Added Feature Under Photo, you can now take pictures on the attachable USB Camera. You can even browse the internet. (And Yes It's Free!) Anything you might want to do on any traveling experience watch a movie, play a game, listen to some music, view some funny and unforgettable pictures, you can do all these things on this great system.

Nintendo, in my opinion, is still stuck in the past with 2D graphics and old but classic games for the DS. There is really not much to talk about on the DS topic. You have a touch-screen that you can use in various games. You can now buy the cartridge to browse the internet. It's a solid handheld but there's no question that the PSP is better.

Depends on what you want. Do you want to play games? Get a DS. Do you want to play games, watch movies, listen to music, surf the internet, etc. etc. etc.? Get a PSP.

But I will say that DS games are better than PSP games for the most part (though the PSP still has some good games, it doesn't have nearly as many as the DS), if that's a deciding factor for you. Hope this helps, and good luck!

personally I like the DS better. I enjoy it more, and I don't need all the fancy stuff like photos on the PSP. I have a camera and phone that already stores photos. Plus I love nintendo, and I own a PS2, most PSP games can be found for the PS2. And movies for the PSP cost more than regular DVD's. I don't see the point in buying a movie to watch on a lil screen when I have a TV at home.

No, that isnt true at all, i have never seen a psp game above 50, and ive never seen one for 50 dollars. in fact the most expensive they get is 39.99 that is the retail price of the brand new psp games that just came out. but you will most likely find a psp game for 29.99 or 19.99.

the only bad things i found with my psp is:
no playlist feature for music
no music and slideshows
wifi range isnt anywhere near as good as my laptop's
games scratch more easily and take 30+ sec to load

bad things i found about DS:
since its a touch screen, if your on a bumpy plane ride/car ride i have my doubts youll be able to keep the stylus steady

if you lose stylus you have to buy more
