cause he knows that if he ducks from one bullet he would have to face many more hence he might take many bullets on his chest and duck for one revolver

Superman used to duck reolvers in the 1940s and 1950s until he realized that revolvers aren't any more dangerous to him than bullets. Superman may be smart, but he is not God.

In the movies and TV, you can always do special effects and give the appearance of bullets bouncing off you. Some of the these special effects involve little containers that squirt blood.
It's was alot harder to do FX, especially back in the day, with someone throwing anything at you.
It's also pretty reasonable to deduce that since everything will bounce off him, he uses his chest and body to try and deflect the bullets so that it won't injure innocent bystanders.
If a gun is thrown at him, he's also better off avoiding it - because if he lets it bounce off his chest, it's possible the chamber could go off and stray bullets could fire anywhere. He has less control over where the bullets would go.

well, it has a dramatic look to it having the bullets bounce off the hero's chest... also, the S provides an easy target... batman and punisher both have metal plates under their chest symbols because they know bad guys will most likely shoot them there...
but it was only ducked in the old days to keep the actor from being harmed

That was only in the television series. In the comic books, cartoons, and in the newest film, he doesn't just stop bullets with his chest. The bullets bounce off of him no matter where they are aimed.
In "Superman Returns", the bad guy who was using the super-powered machine gun shot him in the eye, and the bullet flattened on impact.

When a person is trying to shoot another person, they aim at the biggest part of the body. What, Do you think that the bad guys would shoot for his legs? :)
By the way, I have never thrown a revolver as superman.

This question is older than you. Think harder. They did it so generations past the legend will keep it a legend. No Computer graphics helps too. Or maybe Christopher Reeves wouldn't take a rubber pistol to the face. Who knows? This one's up there with, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?" The world may never know. Ask a question with an answer. You'll get better results.

cause he wears armor vest? notice that when people shoot their foes, they're always targeting chest area. but if it comes to throw something, head is the best option. and unlike batman or spiderman, superman doesn't wear a mask or helmet
