Are you able to play all the games without the nunchuck controller?

Depends on the game. Keep in mind that the Nunchuck does come with the Wii, so you don't have to go out and buy it seperately. It also detaches from the controller when you don't need it.

Some games you need a Wii Nunchuck. Wii sports does not have to have a Wii Nunchuck or some of the games on Wii sports. If you have downloaded games like The legend of Zelda or Super Mario Bros you need a Wii classic controller. But if you had a gamecube a gamecube controller can work with some games on the N64 and other ones.

No, some of the games do require the Nunchuck controller to play. I currently have Wii sports, Zelda, and Call of Duty, and Wii sports is the only one that can be played without the nunchuck.
