It may also be ruptured if u have used the tampoons. I think u r just feelin ackward prior to have it for first time let me tell u very truth that it is an orthodox belief that virgin is a girl or woman who has an intact hymen If a girl is born without a hymen is she never a virgin?
About fifty percent of women experience some bleeding the first time, or the first couple times, they have intercourse. The cause of this bleeding is usually the tearing of their hymen. Sometimes, the vaginal wall or vulva can be injured and this too can result in some bleeding. There is usually very little bleeding, a teaspoon or less (In comparison, about four tablespoons of blood are lost during period.)

It's called the hymen. Some women have theirs break long before they have sex for the first time because of tampon use or playing sports, or being very active. Not all women will bleed the first time they have intercourse either. I don't know that you can tell by looking or feeling whether or not it is 'broken'. I know I never noticed any difference the first time I did the deed. I have no clue exactly where it is. Look up 'hymen' on webmd.com or something.

It is called a hymen. It is located just OUTSIDE the vagina. It is a thin layer of tissue that partially covers the vagina. It is completely closed when a girl is still a fetus, then splits partially before she is born.
Girls dilate, or stretch the hymen while bicycling, horse back riding, or using tampons.
The hymen is NOT an indicator of viginity. One is a virgin, until one has sexual intercourse.

it's not deep inside your vagina, it's near the opening once you get past the labia... it's a thin membrane that's kind of clear sometimes... get a flashlight and a handheld mirror and check it out. If it's already broken it's really no big deal, infact you'll be more comfortable once it is broken. I think girls should have their hymens removed after birth just like boys are circumcised after birth
