My Kenmore dishwasher is leaving a powdery residue on my Loc and Loc plastic ware storage containers. This is not "etching" because the residue rinses clean under running tap water. I have normal city water - neither hard nor soft. I do not use a water softener. I've tried less detergent, more detergent, rinse aid and no rinse aid, hotter water and less hot water, long cycles and short cycles, air dry and heat dry. The plastic ware is washed on the top shelf.

I use Cascade Shine Shield Clean Rinse Formula detergent and Jet Dri Liquid Rinse Aid in the machine's dispenser.

Anyone have any ideas? All of the other dishes are coming out sparkling clean but the plastic issue is really bumming me out...

i stopped using powder for this reason and now use the individual little packets. some of the packets are just big chunks of the powder that dissolve through the cycles but i haven't had the problem anymore.
