I cut myself on the fore-arms with a razor blade... when I am trying to deal with such a large amount of anger, sadness, or anxiety... because it seems like it will stop the emotion.. make it smaller or go away all together.... maybe it's to take my mind off of it, but I don't think that's it really.... I don't fully understand why I do this either but this is what I've come up with over the years. I feel like it's not such a bad thing to do if you don't do it deep and if you don't do it often and if you don't do it for attention...
How to stop?? Hmm... well you have to find another way to get whatever cutting yourselfs gives you... a healthy alternative. I try writing out my feelings before they get too heavy or going for a drive or walk. Smoke cigarettes.

I cut, I'm 14
Where- my room, my bathroom, the school bathroom((in a locked stall))
When-whenever I get really frustrated, mad, or sad
Why- Often it's self punishment, other times its my parents or school or friends or just life. Its makes me feel like I've gotten even with people even when they don't know I've done it. it take away my guilt. It takes away reality for a few minutes.
How- Well...so far I've used razor blades, mechanical pencils, paper clips, scissors, my nails, a screw, a saftey pin, a compass (the ones used for math) and thats all I can remember right now
To help it I'm using snapping rubber bands on my wrists and ankkles, I write poetry, I talk to my penpal, I try to think more clearly.
