well, depends on how you define weak. If you mean military might, then, no we aren't weak, if we used the same tactics today that we used in World War II, the war would have been over a long time ago. But, this is different, the enemy uses civilians as a shield against us whereas japan and germany did not. It is no longer acceptable to kill civilians like we did against Japan so, in a political sense, yes we are weaker than we were during world war II.

WWII went a lot faster because the people fighting us had on uniforms.
We are not currently at war in Iraq, we instead are supporting the new Governement of Iraq. The war in Iraq actually only lasted about 60 days or so.
Baghdad is also secure in the areas that are military controlled. The areas that are not military controlled are in the red zone, which has under the Iraqi Police, and CID forces. When they ask us to help secure specific areas in towns we assist.
Also, next time you place a question about politics you should put it in Politics versus Geography.

The US was in Vietnam for much longer in the 60s. That's not a fair comparison. Throughout history, cultures have been weakened in two primary ways: morally and economically.
The 20th century has seen a weakening of America morally, especially in the last 30 years or so. We are now on the brink of an economic slide. I could give you facts and figures, but suffice it to say that the dollar in the 70s is only worth 19 cents today. We may not see an economic collapse in the next year, or even the next five years, but it will happen.
We are no longer the super power most of us still think we are.

America is not weak. But, iraq Was a failure you are right. The difference betwwen ww2 and Iraq is we had world support (except for the axis) in ww2. With iraq everybody wants us to leave. Even though iraq is messed up, you are right, Bush should deport you to North Korea for this question. But he cannot because you have freedom of speech. In conclusion the United States is the world's only global superpower. THis means it is strong not weak.

America has been weakened by a few things and it hasn't happened over night! First, our politicians vote for policies that line their pockets from special interest groups (money v.s. voters interests). Second, our country has been undermined by people and politicians who shove "politically correct" down our throats-what ever happened to standing up for what you believe in? Third, people who stand up for what they believe are labled as right-wing, racists, conservative right, homophobic, etc... and are treated like they have no right to an opinion.
Maybe there are still some people in this country who still think crooked government ,illegal immigration, and men kissing in front of my kids at Wal Mart is wrong!
As for the people who fought in WW II-they were there to kick butt and take names! That's what got it done! There's too much politics about Iraq-nobody wants to upset any one. The thing politicians seem to not mind is upsetting the people paying for all of it!! Whether at home or abroad.
Just my opinion.

America is weaker now. That is my opinion, In ww2 we "profiled Japanese" and put them in camps, Anyone looking like the japs were put in camps (citizens or not). It was wrong but you must protect your women and children and land any way you can. If the Iraq war was on our land ......would there be a question like this? I dont think so. Americans have to stop being so fair in this war, it's hard to say ..but sometimes you have to destroy. Iraq doesn't think twice about killing the innocent. Lets do this!!

Bagdag??? Do you mean Baghdad?
America is not weak. If it has been weakened at all it is because of the people that doubt the government or that trash our armed forces.
