The decision to get married shouldn't be based on how many people you've been with previously...it should be based on your satisfaction in your relationship, your compatibility, etc. Whenever the right one comes along, the right one comes along...don't give up a wonderful thing just because *some* people think you are too young or that you should date more people. Because this kind of thing only happens once in a lifetime, and once you have it you should hold onto it. I am 19, have dated about 6 or 7 people, and can honestly say that I will probably marry my current boyfriend in the future, who I have been with for almost a year. Age is just a number!

You should date several. If you must have a number, I say at least 10 or more. Imminent marriage shouldn't be in your mind at age 21. If it is, then you are probably a bit immature and/or overly cloistered. Keep your priorities in order. Practically speaking they should go something like this: 1. school/education, 2. job, 3. adventure/travel, 4. making friends, 5. finding new interests, 6. finding satisfying companionship,....?#. marriage. It is a good idea to date several women so you learn about things you like and don't like about a potential partner. Also date around to figure out how you need to adapt yourself for a mature relationship like marriage. You will discover there are trade-offs you are willing to make and some you won't make. You will find qualities you value that you hadn't even thought about.
This is a fun process. Moreover, you could stumble on to your soul-mate at anytime. Enjoy.

I knew a guy at an old job that got married after dating a woman after only 4 months. I was surprised that he married a women becasue he told me he was gay. He had kids & so did the lady they are both friends of mine!! Before I got married 2 yrs ago I have 2 ex's the 1st realtionship ended after 8 years he wasn't ready to be married & I was plus he has medicial problems that I was not awear of! My other relationship was only 11/2 yrs. Then I met my husband! We got married after dating only 11 months!! My husband only had 4 girl friends that I know of!! One of which he has a son with. So I don't think it matters how many girls you have as long as the feeling & love are there!

sure it is. it all depends on you, your state of mind and where you are at a point in your life. so there are no hard fast rules.
it could even depend on your culture...in some cultures people get married through arranged marriages before even dating anyone.
but generally speaking i think more experience you have in life in anything , the better the outcome. so my suggestion, date as many different people as possible until you find that one person you can really see yourself spending the rest of your life with

I dated plenty of girls, but my friend who has been married for 6 years only really dated two girls. One in high school and the one he married. If you think you have found the right one, then who knows better than you? You can only take your friend's advice so far and then you have to make theh decisions yourself. Good luck if she is the one!
