Probably the Egyptians.
The Mayans, Aztecs, and Babylonians, built pyramid like buildings too.
Early step pyramids can be found further up the Nile from Giza.
Some say it was aliens or the Atlanteans.
(Atlanteans is officially spelled with an "e" by the way)

Do you mean Pyramids? Those were built by the ancient egyptians.... they were made to accomodate the bodies of dead Pharoahs. A final resting place and structure in their memory.

the mayans and majorly, the egyptians - Djoser, was the first Eguptian pharoah to have a step pyramid which later evolved into the big huge ones we see today
