The typical Republican lacks inquisitiveness about history, geography, philosophy, logic and psychology except from strictly parochial positions. That same typical Republican is extremely concerned with a fundamental approach to religion, a mere self-interest stance in regards to economics, and upholds the status quo with whatever faults there may be because if the status quo provides advantages to the typical Republican, it must be the best of all possible worlds. Hence, rampant racism, misguided foreign policy, environmental catastrophe, uptight medieval approaches to sexuality and gender equality, are seen as conditions that are no worse than they need to be to maintain the Republicans advantages.

I truly believe people should help people not the Government. I like knowing my neighbors and caring about others. If Government let us keep the money we made, my early years would have been much better. Because of my illness my family lives on a very small paycheck. My husband is a full time college student and we don't get any federal help. I did get a small inheritance 2 years ago and because of the Bush tax cuts I was
actually able to keep it. My family did not even have furniture accept for beds and a dinner table until we got that money. Now we even have a computer. I also believe we need a strong military and a President who isn't afraid to use them when needed. I have many reasons, but I hope you have some understanding now.

A republican is a political name for people in the GOP "Grand Old Party" or as many know as the "Republican Party". As shown over the years to be successful in politics one shall be a member of one of the two main parties Republican or Democrat.

This does not necessarily mean they have to vote a certain way, it only means that they agree on most issues such as Stem Cell Research and Abortion. As you may know a majority of Republicans are anti-abortion and a majority of Democrats are pro-choice.

Any person who is not a politician cannot actually be one or the other. The person who says they are a republican but is not involved in the political world is just in need of a self identifier because they lack the self confidence to make their own choices and stand up for the choices they make.

I think the main reason why someone would be a republican is because they favor less government control in their lives. They may feel like people should work hard for what they get instead of relying on others to solve their problems and help them out. One example is an independent woman who goes to work every day in order to raise her children vs. a woman stays home and asks the government for the money (welfare) making every other hard worker in America have to pay higher taxes in order to pay for this lack of work ethic.

Socialism: Guy #1 works real hard -- gets $5/day
Guy #2 is a lazy bum -- gets $5/day

Capitalism: Guy #1 works real hard and starts a business.
Guy #1 starts to make $2000/day.

Then Guy #1 hires Guy #2 for $200/day.

There is income disparity in capitalism but everyone winds up better off.

If you believe in the Free Market.
If you believe you know what's better for you than the Government.
If you want the Government to mind its own buisiness.

These are all good reasons to be a Republican.

There are several reasons I am a Republican:

I think every person should be responsible for their own actions.
I want lower taxes, which will boost the economy.
I want less government involvement in my life.
I am against abortion.
I am against the government involvement in the torture of embryo's to acquire stem cells.

Read John Dean's latest book "Conservatives Without Conscience."

Conservatives have negative personality traits, are authoritarian at the same time they are following sheep.

It's been shown over decades of reseqarch.

Basically, Republicans are self-serving, nasty SOBs.

Cause it's better than being a left wing Democrat or a liberal, OH WAIT, THAT'S THE SAME THING ! can I get some more cheese with this "WHINE" ! I hate big government, they always increase TAXES, cause they love giving out money, to those that don't work, (that's why "Beaner's" love them), I like big business, I like jobs, You can give your money away if you like, or don't worry, you won't need money, there's a government funded program for you !

I didn't want to be a Democrat because my IQ is higher than room temperature. I wouldn't have fit in with them.
