I tried deleting programs, and all of a sudden, the computer automatically restarted, and the resolution was VERY low. Everything was huge. I fixed it, but now when I scroll on a webpage, it stalls and it is very slow. How do I fix it so it doesn't scroll so slow? Please help me ASAP!!! It is annoying. PLEASE PLEASE....

A couple of people mentioned system restore (which can also be accessed under Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools ). System restore would work if it can still function properly. Most likely, you had a bad uninstallation process. It happens when the software code is lousily written (don't buy from that company, EVER AGAIN!! just kidding.) If System Restore still works, you can try that, but remember the program(s) you uninstalled would come back.
I recommend you to do a system file check, which supposedly restore your critical system files, hopefully IE scrolling function would be one of them. Have your XP CD ready in the CD-ROM (assuming you are using XP, System Restore is only available for Win ME & XP. Though, the method I am recommending works with Win 2000 & XP). Go to Run in the start menu. Type: sfc /scannow A window will pop up to guide you through the rest of the process.
If you have furthur problems, send me an email via Yahoo! Answers with your email address, and I will try to help you over the emails. It's always difficult to do tech phone support (and now via email, that would be something new) since I notice more symptons about the machine's problems than the user when I am in front of the machine, but I will do what I can.

Okay first off it is extremely unlikely there is any connection between the 2 events.
There is so much information about the problem that you have not provided - that technically it's impossible to know what you are doing or exactly talking about.
You probably seek a surefire fix-all solution to every general problem. Well XP has one of those.
Click start, click run, type msconfig, click launch system restore, click next, choose a date from the calendar before the problem began. Click next twice more, wait for the system to reboot.
9.9 times out of 10 this will fix any problem.
System restore does not cause you to lose saved data.
It only effects the windows registry - NOT your data.
Also if you are unhappy w/ the outcome system restore is completely reversible - just follow the steps above only put the dot next to "undo a previous restore" at the first screen.

I custom build computers for a major hobby. You have accidently removed the video card drivers( data that makes it work to its full capacity) This is why resolution went big by default. The latest drivers need to be re-installed, you need to know what kind of video card it is first or try letting windows update look at it and install the right ones for you. There are many other things that slow computers down other than programs and are too many to list, you may have to get it tuned up at a computer shop. ask around who has been happy with their computer shop.

what i would suggest doing, is restoring your computer to an earlier time. maybe yesterday or the last restore point, then what i would do, is go to disk cleanup under the system tools and then do disk defragmenter. there are many programs u can download to make your computer faster. but if u are unsure what u are deleting, i would ask for assistance. the last thing u want to do is delete any system files. email me if u need any help. good luck

You need to go to Systems Restore in your All Programs menu.Go to Accessories,System Tools and click the buttons. If going back to before the event does not solve the problem, then you need to reload Windows from your disc if you have one.

You should not have done anything if you are not an expert. As for your resolution, try this:
Right Click on Desktop> Properties > Settings > Advanced> Adapter> List all modes.
You will find all the resolutions there. But you have fixed it, of course. I am helpless for the speed :-(

Most likely, you deleted your video card driver, and the OS is reverting back to original VGA settings. You will have to reinstall it. Check the manufacturer's webpage and download the correct video card driver. That should fix it.

you deleted part of your grfx drivers/software...LOL
find out what kind of grfx card you have and re-download the drivers/software.
then goto www.ccleaner.com and download ccleaner (called crap cleaner) it will do all the cleaning you need and do it much safer. (its a free excellent program)
and dont go deleting stuff anymore if you dont know what youre doing !!!
There are other ways, but ccleaner will do those things as well
After its clean, defragment your drive...goto My Computer, right click on your C:/ drive (Local Disc) and go down to properties, then click tools, then click defragment.
then reboot and you'll see a huge improvement.
