My girlfriend and I are concidering on moving to Ft Lauderdale. Being just my girlfriend and myself I'm concerned about safe areas to live.
I would really appreciate it if you could help me with locations... What are the safest areas to live, also what areas do we "need" to exclude?

The western ft lauderdale suburb of Tamarac is pretty safe although it is around a 12 mile drive to the beach. Coral Springs and Plantation are also nice areas. There's a website http://www.askaresident.com/ftl-lauderdale.htm where local residents help tourists and people thinking of relocating with their first hand knowledge of the area. Hope this helps.

I've stayed along the coast from Jupiter down to South beach, my favorite places are Hollywood beach (just south of Ft. Lauderdale), Boca (north of Ft. L) and Riviera Beach (singer island outside of W. Palm Beach).
I've heard not so good of things but to be honest... I've only had good experiences. I vacation down there so I look for beach, with that in mind I would suggest Hollywood Beach or Boca.

<>From what I read about the murder rate, police shootouts and chases, I don't think I'd give 2 cents for ANY part of Ft. Lauderdale. Do some VERY careful research before you move ther.
