Love is something that you feel, though have a hard time describing. Every which word you choose to describe love, just doesn't seem to do it justice. It's a warm feeling of butterflies in your stomach, overwelming adoration, intense passion and caring.
Though, I did come across this little ditty on another message board, and it pretty much sums up how I feel about my husband:
"Don't marry the person you just want to be with. Marry the person you absolutely don't want to be without."

Love is the softness you feel for someone else that sometimes put their welfare above yours AND you're not even aware that you've made that choice.
For example, I love my daughter unconditionally. I live on a fixed income; sometimes I can barely make ends meet. If my daughter expresses a need for something without which she will be at a great disadvantage - I will contribute ALL I have to help her. And I will think nothing of going without for as long as it takes to recoup.
Or - I will give up my life or health for her if I had to make a choice.
I have felt the same for the men I've loved, but that love faded when I realize they did not deserve it.

Not Google but to the point poetry, Auden's "O Tell Me The Truth About Love".
O Tell me the Truth About Love / W. H. Auden
Some say that love's a little boy,
And some say it's a bird,
Some say it makes the world go round,
And some say that's absurd,
And when I asked the man next-door,
Who looked as if he knew,
His wife got very cross indeed,
And said it wouldn't do.
Does it look like a pair of pajamas,
Or the ham in a temperance hotel?
Does it's odour remind one of llamas,
Or has it a comforting smell?
Is it prickly to touch as a hedge is,
Or soft as eiderdown fluff?
Is it sharp or quite smooth at the edges?
O tell me the truth about love.
Our history books refer to it
In cryptic little notes,
It's quite a common topic on
The Transatlantic boats;
I've found the subject mentioned in
Accounts of suicides,
And even seen it scribbled on
The backs of railway-guides.
Does it howl like a hungry Alsatian,
Or boom like a military band?
Could one give a first-rate imitation
On a saw or a Steinway Grand?
Is its singing at parties a riot?
Does it only like Classical stuff?
Will it stop when one wants to be quiet?
O tell me the truth about love.
I looked inside the summer-house;
it wasn't ever there:
I tried the Thames at Maidenhead,
And Brighton's bracing air.
I don't know what the blackbird sang,
Or what the tulip said;
But it wasn't in the chicken-run,
Or underneath the bed.
Can it pull extraordinary faces?
Is it usually sick on a swing?
Does it spend all it's time at the races,
Or fiddling with pieces of string?
Has it views of it's own about money?
Does it think Patriotism enough?
Are its stories vulgar but funny?
O tell me the truth about love.
When it comes, will it come without warning
Just as I'm picking my nose?
Will it knock on my door in the morning,
Or tread in the bus on my toes?
Will it come like a change in the weather?
Will it's greeting be courteous or rough?
Will it alter my life altogether?
O tell me the truth about love.

Love is encompassing. accepting. believing. hoping.enduring. "Love is as perennial as the grass" it keeps growing. Love is healing and a great aid in understanding...not only the one you love, but your self. It has been said that love affects your eyesight. Where love is strong, faults are few. You choose to let trifles pass and deliberately set out to create a happy moment. Happiness becomes habitual as long as loving is active. Love can be passionate, tender, gentle and protective. Love knows freedom from fear. The love and liberty that is given comes back. Love does not exist without respect for boundaries and the right to privacy and choice. Love is not ownership or possession. It is the best soil for a super abundant life...love is a living growing energizing life-sustaining, enriching...life itself.

I do not shine nor have no glitter,
I was told a diamond in the raw,
True I have not been shaped,
Nor have I been polished,
The question is who am I?
Do I live or just stand upon the ground,
How do I come to be?
Or what was it, just meant to be?
This I must consider,
Before I can get the truth,
So I must stand and think,
I live! I love!
And now I know,
I can give life and give love,
That changes things a little,
I am LOVE. that LIVES.

I believe in love, but I guess besides the kind that i have for friends and family, I haven't really experienced love.
But from my observations, love is what makes single people keep getting stood up everytime they make plans with their non-single friends who at the last minute cancel off theplans just to be with their boyfriends. Bitter? yeah. Love doesn't work for me.

I think love is when you care so much about someone, that if something bad happens to that person you just feel like it happened to you, or when he or she successes in something you feel happy.
When you are in love, you shouldn't feel no envy, anger, jealousy, or any negative feeling towards that person. In fact, I think sex before marriage isn't really love, is just some kind of attraction...but that's it

Love is like a disease. All humans affected by love may do enormously stupid things or turn overprotective for the things they love. Love is like a drug. It's a natural "high", but sooner or later you'll have to go through mandatory and painful withdrawal.
