u should cut down or cut out your caffeine. it is good for your husband to ingest caffeine tho cause it "excites" his sperm. also you shouldn't eat a lot of peas. good luck!

First off, to the person (presumably guy) who said to use sugary substances...you NEVER EVER EVER EVER go near the vaginal area w/ ANYTHING sugary!! That's a recipe for an INSTANT yeast infection!!
I agree w/ all the women that tell you to relax! On average it takes a healthy woman 6 months to conceive. Stressing about it could cause your body to go a little haywire, making the whole thing worse. Seriously, chill out.
Second, I recommend an ovulation test kit. The 7-day package of pee sticks is likely your best bet. Read the instructions and follow them, and you'll have a better knowledge of when the best time to have sex is.
Once you figure that out, start having sex every OTHER day--that give hubby time to rebuild his sperm count. The more sperm, the better your odds are of getting pregnant.
Lastly, lie back w/ your hips elevated for 30-45 minutes after intercourse. Ever wonder why sometimes you feel tired after sex? It's your body's way of slowing you down to increase your chances of conception.
I wouldn't rush in to a fertility doc if you've been trying for 3-4 months. I actually met a woman who did that and demanded Clomid...she went from 2 kids to 6 kids in a single shot. Don't go putting yourself at risk for the sake of instant gratification!!

Can taking cough medicine help me conceive?
Toni Weschler answers:
While there's not a lot of medical research to support this idea, anecdotal evidence suggests that it can help. But there are a few things you should know before you start taking it. One ingredient in certain cough medicines -- guaifenesin -- can help you get pregnant by thinning your cervical mucus, which enables sperm to travel through your cervix and fertilise an egg.
If you know from taking your temperature every morning that you're ovulating, but you don't seem to be producing much wet, slippery, cervical mucus, guaifenesin might help you to get pregnant. This is the paradox though: you need to know when you're approaching ovulation to take advantage of this recommendation, and the only way to know that is by checking your cervical mucus. So guaifenesin works best on women who do produce at least some cervical mucus.
How does it work? Guaifenesin, a common ingredient in cough syrups, is an 'expectorant'. That is, it relieves congestion by helping liquefy mucus in your lungs, allowing you to cough it up. And because it works systemically on all mucus membranes in your body, it can make your cervical mucus wetter, too.
The trick is to find a cough medicine in which guaifenesin is the only active ingredient, so check labels carefully. Many cough and cold medicines contain antihistamines that also work systemically in your body but have the reverse effect. They dry up mucus and diminish wet cervical fluid. And while you're trying to get pregnant, you shouldn't expose yourself to any other drugs unnecessarily, so find a product that contains only guaifenesin and no other active ingredients, including dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant) and alcohol.
If you're taking the liquid form of guaifenesin, take two teaspoons three times a day around the time of month you're expecting to ovulate. Either way, I would encourage you to take it from the first day you notice any type of wetness until the day of your change in body temperature. That may be for about a week.

First, RELAX...nothing will happen if your body is fried! Second, only have sex every other day...and try to have it be maybe once every other day. I just saw a special on the discovery health channel about conception and pregnancy...and they said the more sex you have the less chances for conception because the sperm count is lowered everytime your husband ejaculates. Also, try being on bottom so that the sperm have an easier time getting to their destination...and Third, just lay there afterward...don't move and allow the sperm time to move up the passage...good luck...

To have sex as close to the time of ovulation as possible. I think it's been discovered that the time right at, or more-so, after ovulation is the prime time. To determine the time of ovulation discover your pattern of time when you ovulate by taking your temperature about the same time each morning to discover your pattern ~ ~ ~ or better yet is to take an ovulation test. There are test kits you can buy. Ovulation is when the woman's egg is released from the ovary. So, when the ovary is still 'fresh' and not beginning to break down (as happens during a woman's period), the ovary is prime to be fertilized and the sperm is right there to 'meet' it'.

I'm going on the my forth month. Ive tried everything! And Ive decided and heard not to think about it and have sex for fun. Focus on other things in your life or your body is going to go through stress and it will make it that much harder to fall preggy.
Only 2 suggestions, try from behind and lie down about 30 mins after sex, (Maybe be4 bed time.) But nothing elseeeee, you will prob be waiting longer other wise. Don't worry bout ovulation either, its going to keep you thinking about it, just have sex every couple of days.
Don't you ever wonder why people who do try and get pregnant that they can't easily and don't try, they always get pregnant. lol

Folic acid doesnt make you more fertile, its just something you are supposed to be taking if you are planning on getting pregnant as its good for the baby...
Just have sex more often or try to figure out when you are ovulating. They have ovulation testing kits. You are more likely to get pregnant when you are ovulating, but its not guaranteed.

You should get checked out by your doctor to make sure nothing is wrong..
however 3 months is NOT that long to be trying. Some people try for years to get pregnant.

I've heard that adding a sugary substance like honey to the mix helps the semen stay alive longer...something about the glucose. Probably don't want to use honey though...some sort of sugary liquid.
