I have found a slogan that works for me,
"Life is what happens while I am Thinking"
live for the moment, cherish the memories, don't fear the future. Love the present, for this is tomorrows memories.

I would say I do 1/2 and 1/2. I look towards the future in anticipation and look back with thoughts of not repeating alot of things.

I spend far too little time thinking of the future. I am either trapped in the past or tangled up in now. As a result, I am frequently late.

I generally channel my thoughts toward the future, by intention.
But catch myself focused on thoughts of the past (most often), by habit.
I also tend to compare the past to the present, and catch myself predicting future events/conditions.
