Come up with a bit, and try to be unique and original. Then, test it out with friends and family. if it goes over well, find a local night club/college campus/coffee house. A small venue to practice. Get a good feel for the audience, and tweek your act until you have multiple killer jokes. Then, start trying to get gigs at larger veunes. Get to know the bar/club owners in your local area, and get the word out that you are funny. Then start trying to spread out to larger venues

Start with small clubs--you first need to make a tape of you in front of a live audience (more than 10 people) can be friends and family. Once you have a tape of you performing--have the audience comment on why they liked you and other positive comments. Send these tapes to comedy clubs in your area by hand. You have to be persistent and convincing to the club owners. Remember to SELL YOURSELF!!!!

For some it is gift. But we can learn to be one. Get familiar with jokes and riddles by reading. fun stories. listen to comedians. you may do better.
