He stayed with Juventus when relegated to Serie B, has led Juventus to the top with no doubt that they will be back in Serie A by next season!
He's an awesome and loyal player..I think he deserves an award for loyalty ,not to mention best player of the year!

well him staying there increased chances that juventus will go up to serie a. since these clubs are just a business, it seems these players which including buffon didn't care about the money or that they see him as a product (while playing of course) and they devote themselves not to the money making job they are currently in, but in the passion to "the greatest game on earth!"
how many players you see play poorly after receiveing a "beautiful contract". it's all about the money, espiecially here were i live, but these player show passion to the game and themselves, since a sport is a delicacy of life itself, one must have true passion to play and win, without lossing themselves in the "winning" mentality or process.
let's look at the 2006 fifa world cup with no money involved like many people see it as. If france played very average average and uninteresting in the group stages...how can they reach the final then? if brazil were the best, how come they lost embarassingly? if italy were given the game in the last 16 match against australia...how come the won the world cup then? if spain were better than france..how come they lost childly against france??
it all comes with the heart in the game that we need to embrace during play, something that these players hung on to. Even each game has a different ambience, and the team must be prepared, like if each day was a different day with different weather. That is what a team is like playing each game prepared.

Buffon is exceptional indeed, any club in the world would have taken him, the loyalty he has shown is rare indeed, just like Henry of Arsenal(my team). But I guess no one but Juve fans will be happy, I want Buffon to join Arsenal, Wenger showed interest n so did Buffon consider it last summer, especially after Lehmenn is goin to retire next year n wants to spend a season in Germany.

If he's so loyal then why he left Parma and joined Juventus before? I'm sure that with Parma he could win anything at those times and those squad it has but he and Parma couldn't resist the amount of money Juventus offered. Quite a big amount for a goalie! And once Buffon, Cannavaro, Thuram etc left Parma that club is still struggling to survive in Serie A.
I dunno the real reason why he stayed with Juventus at Serie B. But if I'm using my cynical point of view maybe because no clubs offered amounts of money that he want, in terms of big clubs. Barcelona is happy with Valdes, Madrid won't exchange Casillas with anybody. Milan have Dida, Chelsea got Cech, Liverpool got Reina, Man Utd still rocking with their old goalie. Although Juventus is playing in Serie B, it is still a big club isn't it?!

I respect him for that but I'm not really happy I want to see him more often and I think he will become better if he played in Serie A. Anyway I hope Juve makes it to serie A next year.

I heard rumours he was going to Chelsea after the match with reading... thankfully that was dismissed and I'm even more grateful that Juventus has officially put these rumours to rest.
