Superman doesn't get physically tired but he does get metnally tired, and he needs to dream. There have been some stories when he did not sleep for weeks or months at a time and began to hallucinate. (It would happen to one of us after only two or three days!)

As far as his boots go, Superman is able to super-compress them so they don't take up any more room than socks under his shoes. They really are more or less like the booties on flannel jammies, only since they are super indestructible cloth from Krypton, they protect his feet just as well as heavy steel-toe workboots.

It all depends on which Superman you are talking about.

The original Supes from wayyyyyyyyy back in the 40's did need sleep. He wasnt as super as some of the others.

The Supes from the 60's and 70's didn't need sleep but liked to sleep to clear his mind a little

The Supes from the 80's and on does need sleep because his stamina is not as absolute as the previous version.

The Supes from the JLA and his own cartoon recently fall into the same catagory as the 80's version simply because it is what they are based upon.

Hope that helps at least a little

YES , he does , he tries though to go back to the clark kent disguise and sleep in his apartment(because superman flying into a random apartment at night is suspicious) it is revealed in an animated episode of super man that he sleeps, (batman tracks him down to find his secret identity , also in an epidode of justice leage the only reason he is caught and beatoen by Dr.Destiny is becuase he IS SLEEPING!, he also sleeps in the show smallville too

properly.......... i don't think of he would might want to. i do not comprehend for sensible or have a ideal answer, yet so a techniques as i comprehend superman does stay conscious. I do imagine, although, that he has to apply the lavatory, because he does stay as a wide-spread human, ingesting and ingesting. yet in case you watch Smallville in any respect, he does have a neccessity to sleep and each and every thing like a wide-spread human being would.

it has been said in the comics that superman has no need for physical rest, but his mind does need to rest, so he sleeps...
as far as the boots go, they are pretty thin... might be like a pair of socks...
