I just moved to this new town about 9 months ago. I only did about 2 months in 8th grade here, so basically had to start out in my freshman year. Everyone already has there clicks formed, and I havent made one friend. I joined a club/organization last week call Amnesty International. Its okay....no guys though, a couple but its mostly girls. Which isn;t a bad thing, but I'd like to hang with guys to.
School has been really lonely. I sit alone and when we have to do group projects I usually either work by myself or the friggan teacher pairs me up with someone. Everyone in this school is stuck up, if you say Hi to them or whats up they just answer with a "what do you want". At my last school it wasnt like this, waay more laid back and not a whole lot of clicks. I tried transfering to the Vocational school but they wont let me until my sophmore year.
Any advice on how I can make more friends, I play guitar but there are no musicians in this school, I already checked.

Have you tried out for any sports yet??? if not why don't you try out and maybe you can earn your keep and find some friends that you might be interested in hanging out with...
good luck

I go to a high school in a international friendly, open minded school and new kids fit in within one to two weeks if they try. From your description i would give you an "A+", your trying and your involved. I am surprised that there aren't any guys on Amnesty. Though you might want to try a sport if you are athletic. Group projects are tough if they aren't assigned, because everyone has there best friends. On assigned groups project, show your colors. I am surprised that your school does not have any musicians. Check again around for musicians or high school bands (not the marching one at football games). You seem regular, involved, and you might have a good personallity to show if you have a spot in group. If you can possible tell us more about the enviroment (the other blogger) might be able to give you a better answer. Include: Setting (rural, suburban, urban), State, guess school size or just your class, and if there are other new kid.
If it is conservative (rural, not open, mostly 80% of one race) good luck.
If it is liberal (suburban or urban, open-minded, multicultural) you have a larger chance.
Lunch is the best time to find a click. Stay strong and try to stick with it.

It seems sad that everyone is being a jerk to you. I know what it is like to move to a new school and have to try and make new friends (my father was in the military and we moved often) it is not easy, but if you just keep at it, eventually you will find other guys that have something in common with you. Since you want to bond with other guys, try talking with the guys during gym class. If you do team sports, try and let the guys know up front that you are new to the area and would like to know what they do for fun. Don't let a few rude jerks get you down, keep at it - and sometimes when someone is rude for no reason and I respond "look I'm new to the area, and just trying to get to know people, so why are you being so rude" - they often become friendlier because they feel a little guilty. Anyway - I know what you are going through and I wish you the best. Take care.

Try becoming friends with the girls and have them introduce you to their male friends. Also look for friends near your home outside of school. Sometimes it's easier to get to know someone better outside the environment of school. Once you find someone to help you "break the ice" with the others it will get easier. Good luck.

i always felt that doing sports was the best thing to meet friends. especially friends that you willl have for a long time.
so try some sports if at all possible. and your attitude is way bad, you need to walk around like you wanna meet people that way people will wanna meet you.
