I think you mean...Somewhere in time, if so...A defiantly old-fashioned romantic drama tinged with fantasy, Somewhere in Time has acquired a cult following in the two decades since its theatrical release, and is among the few non-Superman movies for which Christopher Reeve's work is remembered. Based on a little-known novel by Richard Matheson, this modest film directed by Jeannot Szwarc (Jaws 2) reinforces the dreamy notion that true love transcends time and place. Reeve plays an inexplicably sad Chicago playwright who, upon seeing a 1912 photo of a famous actress (Jane Seymour at her most luminous), believes he's met her before. Transported some seven decades into the past through the power of his will, he encounters the woman and begins a passionate affair with her. Obviously mindful of Hollywood's classic period romances, Szwarc re-creates the early 20th century with painstaking care, capturing the pictorial beauty of Michigan's Mackinac Island with diffused lighting and warm colors. Reeve and Seymour make such a beautiful couple that even the bittersweet conclusion of their relationship won't dampen viewer enthusiasm.

Yeah, Somewhere in Time. Christopher Reeve's character saw an
old photo of Jane Seymour at an old hotel and got fixated on her.
He came up with some scheme where he bought old period clothing and purchased old coins and bills and there was something about an old pocket watch. He rents a room at the
old hotel and falls asleep then wakes up in the past.
A weird concept, the only thing good about it was Jane
Seymour was absolutely gorgeous in the old fashioned
costumes, but the storyline was weak..
If you hated this movie so much, why are you wasting so much time and energy on it??? There are an awful lot of
horrible rotten movies out there, maybe you should get a life.

This movie was a regular early afternoon movie in England, Christopher Reeve fell in love with a woman on an old newspaper and found a way to go back in time I think to about the time of the San Francisco earthquake but just as he is about to marry her at the end he finds two modern coins in his pocket and for some reason this drags him back to the future and he can not find a way back.

[[ The movie opens with college student Richard Collier gathering rave reviews for his new play. At the party, he comes face to face with an old woman who presses something in his hand and whispers, "Come back to me." He opens his hand to find an old pocket watch. Cut to several years later. Playwright Collier is in the midst of a break-up and writers block. He leaves the city for awhile to think things out and finds himself near his alma mater at the Grand Hotel. While wandering around the hotel, he finds a photograph of a beautiful young woman. Richard is entranced, and tries to find out all he can about her. During the course of his research he learns she was Elise McKenna, an actress from the turn of the century. He also discovers that she was the mysterious old woman who gave him the watch. Finally determining that he must meet her somehow, he employees self-hypnosis and wills himself back to 1912. He meets Elise and they fall in love, which does not make her manager, William Fawcett Robinson, happy at all. Will their love survive Robinson's disapproval? Will Richard be able to stay in 1912?]]

Yes, it is positively dire! This guy falls in love with a picture of an Edwardian lady and goes back in time (I can't quite remember if he actually goes back or regains some memories from a prior life) to meet her. It is one of the worst movies ever and it is blessing that it has been erased from our collective memory. Christopher Reeve looks like he is made out of wax throughout the entire movie.
