Jimmy Carter created 12 years of Republican power. He was a complet idiot yet was labled a nuclear scientists. Bush has the Mexican fence, Carter had the boat people, Carter's reign created the modern terrorist (including several hostage criseses) that Bush is now starting to go after. Bush had corruption revolving around a hurricane. Carter had corruption revolving around a Nuclear meltdown at 3 Mile Island. Carter's economy involved stagflation Bush's economy is actually is as good as it gets. Bush had the anti missle system. Carter had the B-1 bomber and the MX missle system that were put on trains supposably to make them harder to hit. Carter had a real oil crises.

Other unpopular presidents:
Clinton: built an economy of fraud, launched para military operations in the U.S. (Ruby Ridge, Waco Texas and Miami, Florida).
Cut and run president
Last two years involved a resession and a stock bust.

Lincoln: Not only did he order the death of 500,000 Americans and the destruction of several towns and cities just because...He also changed his reasonsfor the Civil War. It went from being about federalism vs a confederacy to being about slavery. Even the North had riots during his term.

Hoover: Known for creating and then substaning the Great Depression. 25% of the population was out of work.

I'm not thrilled about some of his choices, but heck....
You want a list of more hated ones just in my lifetime? He's a blip on the screen. But the degree of general vitriol in society seems to be increasing with time. People seem to have lost the ability to "disagree without being disagreeable."

LBJ and Nixon were hated mostly because of the Vietnam War.

Only right wing nutters and some Cuban Americans hated JFK.

"Hate" is a strong word, it is what motivates terrorists, they thrive on hate. So, if you were to use the word "dislike", then I would answer your question by saying that Clinton ended up being a very disliked man, not only because of his sexual problems, but, because he never had the good of America at heart! And that is my opinion.

Nixon was more unpopular. He was only elected because the Democrats had such a lousy candidate. It seems to be very "in" to use the h word.
