Easter originated as a pagan Roman holiday celebrating the goddess of fertility, with the bunny and the easter egg as symbols of fertility. The easter egg was colored to symbolize the colors of spring and sunshine. The surprising fact is that even when so many people find out this is a Pagan tradition, and not from God, they still practice it. I don't think God would approve if we exchanged His religion for pagan traditions.

Easter was a christian holiday that replaced a pagan holiday which celebrated fertility (the goddess Diana I think). This was in the spring when crops were planted. Anyway rabbits were part of the celebration due to their ability to rapidly reproduce and eggs were part of the celebration for the same reason

why is there a fat man in a red suit; who else will lay colored eggs? a fat baby is booked for new years. the fat guy in red suit is booked for christams. a flying baby is booked for valentines . Jack Frost is booked for halloween and so we resort to the bunny for easter.
