It may be a trivial question but it just occured to me that the color of the skin loses importance if one cannot see it. If answers to my question are negative, should we learn from blind people in order to respect other ethnics? If answers are positive, would it mean that, much beyond skin color, racism is a society phenomenon traducing the fact that we put stickers on people to catalogue them, thus according them qualities or shortcomings?
Can we change that behavior? Could we forget the catalogue where society is involved or am I talking utopia here?

Most people that are racist are BLIND. Blind to anything but their beliefs. It goes beyond a visual conception. It is a learned behavior. People are not born a racist, they are made a racist. So yes, a blind person can be a racist.

If their skin is white, then they're inherently racists. Their lack of that olfactory sense doesn't make them any less racist. They hate as absolutely, if not more absolutely as their non-visually impaired compatriots.

You're talking utopia. lol

Racism = hate. You can be deaf, blind and/or mute, and still hate someone else. Not being able to see the skin complexion of the actual person you hate, will not even matter.

So while i don't know of any blind racists, yes, i believe a blind person could be racist.

I would love to say they were not, but unfortunately, racism is not just based on color. The disease is spread by ignorance and intolerace to anything that is different So, to answer your questions, yes they can be. but, last I heard we all bleed the same way and color.

Your assuming that they would only be racist based on color.....What about accents, dialects or perhaps they would be baised based on a persons smell,so yes a blind person can be a racist.

yes i think blind people can be racist, because of the way people talk. black people use slang a whole lot. so they may catch on that way. me I'm not racist but my daughter talks so differently when she gets around black people that i just want to slap her. good luck AND GOD BLESS YOU.
