ask him.. talk to him... do something! just act like nothings wrong when you talk to him because hes probably thinking the same thing about the friend part

Just be cool and see if there is any change in the way he acts when he's with you. Then judge for yourself.

just write a note with your number on it and tell your friends to give it to him. then when he calls you, you just say "hey" and start a con. it worked 4 me!

i don't know how old you are but in junior high/high school girls are usually more mature as far as relationships go. he just might not be ready for what you are looking for.
