Is there a third world nation that is predominantly Caucasian?

Seems like the poorest nations in the world have one common feature -- they are all people of 'color' Any reason why that is?

While I understand that the question can be construed in a racist way, I am very serious about it.

Lots of former Soviet republics and ex-socialist states in Eastern Europe qualify as Third World now.

Oh, and let's not forget that Argentina and Uruguay are 90% Spanish and Italian.

I did a brief paper for spanish class this summer. Costa Rica (in South America) apparently have people who "feel distinct from their neighbors by their "whiteness" and relative lack of indigenous culture. Ticos identify themselves first and foremost as Costa Ricans and only Central Americans or Latin Americans, as an afterthought." I know their is a better website than this one that talks more about their 'whiteness', but I threw this in for starters. However, I believe they are fairly good off though in the small country of Costa Rica. If you look more into it, you'll see they have rish diets, good seafood industry,etc. So, Costa Rica may still not be one to mention. It's probably more than a 3rd world country. Don't know. But good point to mention. China and Japan's economy seems pretty good off for not being 'caucasian'. Maybe because we give them too much business.

Most "third world" places are that way because of constant civil war and lack of democracy. Just like when the US went through civil war we were doing bad until it ended and we got back on our feet.
